God placed Joseph in the right place at the right time to save both Egypt and Israel as he had wisdom from God in to how handle incoming drought. For a season the Egyptians appreciated how God had used Joseph. Joseph and his generation died. Pharaoh and his generation died. A new generation rises who saw the Israelites as nothing but a threat because God was blessing them and they grew numerically. How quickly do people turn from the good works and blessings of God? How quickly do people forget the good things that God did through a man like Joseph? We have it pretty good as American Christians in central PA today. Will our kids and grandkids have the exact same standing? There are no guarantees. We must do everything we can to teach our kids about Jesus and take Jesus to the world if we want to set a strong future for our kids.
We also must train our kids so well in the Gospel and help them develop a love for God that even if trouble comes, they will still do what is right. Shiprah and Puah were willing to risk their lives to save the babies that Pharaoh was trying to come. When trouble came, they had integrity and still did what was right. God blessed their integrity and faithfulness by giving them families of their own. Are you doing what is right in God's eyes in our world where trouble is very limited? If we can't be faithful in the easier times, then how do we expect to stand strong if times get tough?
