What do we if the opposition we face is persistent and keeps coming? We persevere! We keep pushing forward in the right direction. The opposition was using deception. They were making lies up about them revolting and declaring Nehemiah their king. The troublemakers were persistent in their wrong doing.
Nehemiah was frustrated I am sure, but he knew that he had to be more persistent and persevere despite these attacks. Evil men should not be more persistent than good men. The thing Nehemiah had on his side was truth and God. The truth shall ultimately prevail and if your opposition is only based on lies the truly only way they can win is if we stop speaking the truth. The truth is too important to surrender to evil men's lies. Stand firm and keep the faith that the truth will prevail.
We also know that God was on Nehemiah's side. Evil people can resist God's will only so long before they are no longer an obstacle by God's divine handling of them. I am sure Nehemiah was frustrated, but he would not let evil men frustrate and stop God's will. Neither should we.
