Wisdom is available and calls out for us to come and live wisely. Wisdom is not something that hides from us. It is not something that only comes through age or education. It is not limited to only a few people who become "wise men". The verses remind us that wisdom is available to each and every one of us. God's Word is full of wisdom and too often it is found sitting on people's shelves collecting dust rather than open and giving insight and direction.
We know that wisdom comes from God because wisdom existed long before we did. Wisdom existed from the foundation of world. In fact, it was God's wisdom that brought about the world. The thing about wisdom is that it is not from mankind, but it is for mankind. Solomon's wisdom was not about Him making up great ideas. It was more about his ability to discern and understand from God's perspective as God helped him see things. Beware of any wisdom that doesn't originate from God. Whether it is from the Bible or from a godly person who seeks the LORD- the roots of wisdom must be God.
