This Psalm gives us a snapshot of some of Israel's history. Look at the story line- God is faithful and consistent. Israel was up and down. Sometimes they were really committed to God. Sometimes they got really distracted. God's love endured through all of it. This is special type of love. God's love can overcome our "unlovable" moments. It overcomes when our love for God is not what it should be.
God's
love is gracious but also will be tough when required. He calls to account when we mess up. He will deal with us when we stray. This is because God's love for us causes Him to correct us so that we don't ruin our own lives.
Praise the LORD that His love endures through our rough days. Praise the LORD that He doesn't leave us or forsake despite our moments of turning away from Him.
When people say God left me alone, He walked away from me I sympathize with their hurt. But my question is this: Did God Walk away, or did we turn around from Him? There is a difference between someone leaving our presence and someone leaving our perspective. God didn't leave you, maybe you just started looking in the wrong direction. Ask God to help you know His presence today.
