September 2 Psalm 119:81-112

This section reminds us that God's Word is more than just a book. We don't merely study the Bible like we would a math or history textbook. The Bible is very interesting to read, but it is not merely a novel for our enjoyment. The Bible is God's Word to us. He gives it to us as instruction and guidance to know how to live our lives.

In our current cultural moment, there are people who dislike the Bible. There are people who think the Bible is outdated and not up with the current times. At the same time, when you poll people and ask how things are going in the world the overwhelming majority seem to think the world is heading in the wrong direction. The problem is not that we need to get the Bible to begin to conform to the world- that would just affirm the chaos. Rather- we need the world to start to conform to the Bible- that would literally change the world. As a Christian we know that the Bible is important. Do we live like that is true? We believe that Bible is the Word of God. Do we come to the Bible with the proper respect to not only read but respond to what God says?
