September 10 Psalm 125
To be like Mount Zion is to be firm and unshakeable. When we put our eyes on Jesus we see a Savior who does not change. Yesterday, today, forever, Jesus is the same. When we put our eyes on the world we see a constant identity crisis. The values of the world change all the time- the values of God Word never do. What is good in this eyes of the world shifts frequently- what is good in the eyes of God remains the same. As a Christian we have a firm foundation in Jesus Christ. If we stand firm in Christ we can become unmovable in the chaos and storms of the world.
If we resolve to live according to God's Word as opposed to the world's will we begin to see a consistancy in our lives that can fill us with hope, joy, and peace and show others how not to be swept up in the tides of cultural shifts. Trust in the LORD and stand firm in Him. We are seeing seeds of revival taking root in the younger generations in America- and I think a big part of this is that they are getting sick of what the world is trying to tell them. Younger generations need us to continue to stand firm in our faith so that when they do look for the Truth they can receive it from us.
