Psalm 130

If God kept record of all our wrongs we would all be in a lot of trouble. Thankfully, through Jesus we can find forgiveness from our sins. That forgiveness does not come with some of the things we find in human forgiveness.

Human forgiveness may say the words I forgive you with the mouth, but not truly forgive in the heart. When God says we are forgiven it is not just words, it is from His heart.

Human forgiveness may still keep records of wrongs in the back pocket to bring up again at a convenient time. They may say we are forgiven, but they still use the past to hold it over us in the present. God forgives and does not keep bringing our sins back up to use against us in the future.

Sometimes we struggle to forgive ourselves. Sometimes we continue to hold sins we have done against ourselves when God has said has been covered by Jesus, forgiven, and are in the past. When God says something is forgiven we must believe that it is true and forgive ourselves as God has forgiven us.
