Psalm 139 is well known and is very deep. There is so much that could be written about these verses. For one thing we can know that we can never surprise God. He knows all about us. He knows where we have been, and He knows where we are going. He sees our lives much better than we even see our own lives. This can be an encouragement that we can trust God when we pray. When we pray, we should ask God to show
us what is best rather than simply telling Him what we think is best. We often live for today without much concern for tomorrow or we get so focused on tomorrow that we forget to live in today. With God we can have confidence that He is with us today and will also be with us tomorrow. We can live our lives today with trust that God will get us to tomorrow and will handle tomorrow when that becomes today.
We also see verses in 13-16 that shows God concern and work in the lives of unborn children. There may be a moment in the pregnancy where we are unsure if we are having a boy or girl. At that same moment God already knows all about this child. God is at work in a human's life long before they are ever held by their parents. We must protect and speak of the sanctity of life starting in the womb. God is knitting these babies together and has created them in His image. The unborn are not problems to be dealt with, they are people created in the image of God who are to be loved and protected.
