Colossians 3:15-17
This section again reminds us that thanksgiving is not circumstance focused, but God focused. When our eyes are on Jesus and we worship Him, it shapes how we view and handle the rest of life. Letting the word of God dwell in us is vital. This means we don't merely think about Jesus just at devotional time or Sunday morning. We take the word of God and keep it in the forefront of our heart.
What is the result of this praise and thanksgiving? Everything we do, whether what we say or what we do, is done in the name of the LORD and for God's glory. Thanksgiving and praise shapes how we talk and act. A joyful and thankful Christian really stands out in a world full of disappointment, hopelessnes, anger, and greed.
