May 21   Psalm 18

God is all-powerful.  When He responds in power there is nothing that can stand against Him.  Think about the displays of God's power in the Bible in response to sin:  Noah's flood, Sodom and Gomorrah, walls of Jericho falling, fire in the contest between Elijah and the prophets of Baal, 10 plagues.  The list could go on and on.  There is no doubt that God is powerful and when He chooses to respond to sin His power is overwhelming to whatever power or strength man thinks they have.

God has the power to change our lives in a moment.  When we are sick, He can heal.  When we are in despair, He is our hope.  When we are mourning, He will comfort us.  When the world seems to be standing against us, He will stand for us.  When we are falsely accused and spoken against, He will vindicate us.  When we are persecuted for righteousness, He will bring justice on our behalf.  The Christian life is not about your power, but His power.

"But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.'" (2 Corinthians 12:9)
