May 28   Psalm 25

Nobody who puts their trust in the LORD will be put to shame.  This means when our trust is matched with obedience and action that God will never produce anything in our lives to bring us shame.  Oddly enough the world tries to shame Christians sometimes for their Biblical beliefs.  The reality is that the shame belongs to those who don't hold to Biblical teachings.  In fact, I feel like sometimes this is the Cain and Abel effect.  Sometimes when we pursue God and what is right in His ways we do bring shame to those who choose to disobey God.  This is not because we are mean or nasty, but merely by speaking the Truth and living according to the Truth it points to the fact that they do not.  Rather than try to fix what is wrong in their lives they try to silence what is right in our lives.

When Christians choose not to put our trust in the LORD in all areas of our lives we can quickly find that we feel shame.  I believe that God uses our feeling of shame as a form of conviction to help us to get back on track to putting our full trust in the LORD.  God will not bring shame into our lives, but we can quickly bring it upon ourselves when we take our eyes off Jesus. How should we deal with our shame and guilt?- Repentance and appreciation for God's grace.
