May 10 Psalm 7
There are two ways that we face opposition from people or difficulties in life. One is based on the idea of consequences. We did something wrong that causes opposition. We made a bad choice and we face those outcomes. These are difficult circumstances, but at least we can see a root cause for what is happening. These things are more easily explainable.
There is also opposition and difficulties that come that we are completely innocent of, it is not based on us doing wrong. People don't like us but we didn't do anything to them. Things like sicknesses, job loss, and other types of challenges can come, not as direct consequences of our own choices or behavior. These are harder to deal with because they simply don't seem to make sense.
Jesus understands what it is like to face difficulties even though you have done nothing wrong. He did wonderful things in life and always found some opposition. Whether the difficulties we face are because of our choices, or we are completely innocent we can trust that God will take care of us. It doesn't matter what the cause of our problem may be, God can handle them all.
