Psalm 77
July 20 Psalms 77
This Psalm keeps repeating the word meditate. This word can be used to describe practices of other religions and dangerous thoughts when misapplied. In the sense of the Psalm, it is an invitation to think deeply and reflect. Rather than attempting to empty ourselves, our purpose is to fill ourselves with God's Word. It is letting the Holy Spirit lead in our lives. When you read Scripture, it is always a good thing. Take the Word to heart. Think deeply about what God says. Put it into your heart and mind. We can read Scripture quickly and put our Bible's on the shelf and feel satisfied with fulfilling a spiritual task for the day. But we benefit so much more when we take the Word to heart, reflect on it throughout the day, and apply it to our lives. If you take the time to fill your heart and mind with the Word of God, you will have a lot less room for the junk this world has to offer.
