June 8   Psalm 36

David keeps repeating the phrase "steadfast love".  This is the type of love that God has for us.  The phrase “steadfast love” in the original Hebrew means “loyal love.” It is a love that God has for us that is not circumstantial, or performance based.  He loves us because He love us, it is as simple as that. David must have found this to be so helpful- a loyal love when he found so little loyalty around you.  God's love for us is not given one day and taken away the next.  This does not mean that God will not correct and discipline us when we need it.  Loyal love does not mean we get a pass on everything we do.  Loyal love means that God is ready to forgive us when we come to Him.
